This was accounted for the first half of 2018. Nuclear power, on the other hand, accounted for 19.863 percent. This shows that renewable energy had beat out nuclear power even if by a slight margin. As per EIA, the contribution of coal power in the total electrical generation was 26.93 percent in the first half of 2018. This is 5.6 percent less than the first half of 2017.
